FYI: The first lighthouse was the Pharos of Alexandria in ancient Egypt. This tower was built in the 3rd century BC and was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. For a long time, it was one of the tallest man-made structures in the world. It was said to be over 100 meters tall, but it was destroyed by earthquakes during the Middle Ages.
