Swagmen in the outback are a traditional part of Australian culture. An outback holiday in which I saw many kangaroos ( but no swagmen) gave me the idea to draw this funny animal complete with walking stick, water bottle and carrying a swag. If you have ever travelled through Australia in summer, you would be well aware of ever present blowflies, and in the North, the strangely shaped baobab trees.
